Happy Birthday

Hello bloggers!  Corner, corner, who has the corner?  I do and eight of them to boot!  The corner from the Austrian Collection is gorgeous and makes such a beautiful card too.  So simple, cut four of them and glue them to a piece of pale lavender card.  Cut a smaller pale lavender square, cut four more corners out of coconut white card, glue them into the corners so that each of the corners overlaps, creating a different pattern. Cut a wider white mat for it and add decorative white PVA glue dots to the edge after mounting the entire piece in a diamond fashion.   Out of the pale lavender card, cut the decorative middle die from my new Salzburg die and mount on to foam in the centre of the card.  Stamp your sentiment and cut it out with the smallest die in that set.  Ink it with Shaded Lilac distress ink before removing it from the die and mount in the centre of your focal element.  I added a pierced white mat layer before finishing with a thin lavender mat and a final white mat layer.  This is definitely a case of a card where the dies do all the work, but they do it so beautifully, don't they!  The finished dimension are 6 3/4" x 6 3/4" in size.
If you are interested in any of the pictures from the roadtrip, please check Julia's blog (InkyFingerzone.blogspot.co.uk) this week as she was the photographer  for our fabulous adventure!
All for now, Sue x

  26. Hi Sue. Gorgeous card, I love the lilac and white. This Austrian corner is beautiful, it works perfectly with the others. Just want to say again sue, thank you for this wonderful second collection of dies and all of the gorgeous cards. Have a great day today : )
Sending Pam and Robbie my usual daily hugs to you both : )
Norah, wonder if you will be able to sit still long enough to read this, or if you are even looking before you set off? Will you be sat outside Craftworld waiting for it to open so that you can get a front row seat to see Sue? I sincerely wish you a fantastic day : )I am sure your hills are perfect for you today : )
June, I use my piercing ruler to lightly mark out where I want my dots to go, it helps me to get them a lot straighter and evenly spaced than just doing them freehand : )
Sending hugs to Sue, my very special friends and all that are in need, no matter why. It's going to be a bit hotter today with only a little mizzle down here in Devon. We are going up on Dartmoor to soak up the fabulous views and the silence : )) Take care.

    Morning Sue
Today's gift is so so elegant and gentle. Your dies are definitely the showpiece!!
I just know you are going to muddy my waters as to which to buy now aren't you?
I love the colour scheme - lavender is one of my all time favourite colours. Reminds me of warm summer evenings sat outside with the aroma of soft lavender and bees just before they finish for the day.
Have a wonderful day in Glasgow meeting some of my Wilsonette Sisters.

Norah - Now you may not read this before setting off to meet Sue but just take it steady; no running; jumping or skipping; just have a wonderful day. Report back tomorrow please.

Sandra - hope you're not too tired and suffering from doing too much yesterday - Families and family memories are so so important and must always be treasured. Time passes by far too quickly.

HELP PLEASE - I seem to think that someone not so long ago mentioned that their emboss folders wouldn't go through the eboss machine. Can anyone please tell me the trick needed. I've tried a Creative Expressions one and it will not go through. I know that one of my Wilsonette sisters came up with a solution but for the life of me cannot remember who.

Hope you are all OK and having a day of R&R today after our wonderful week with Sue and her fantastic launch.
Take care everyone and see you tomorrow.

Well the terrible twosome are firing on all cylinders. I couldn't understand why both of them kept putting their heads through the flowers in the first border in the back garden and growling softly. At last!!! found Harry the missing tunnel cleverly disguised with leaves ( Tilly has now been banned from watching telly) have managed to foil the escape plan which I believe has had my two speaking to the westie next door to get all the poochies in the street helping to dig down in their own gardens to join up with my menaces tunnel aiming for the green at the end of the houses.
Hubby has alot to answer for with his constant watching of the Great Escape . Needless to say mighty menaces are now sulking in the lounge with their backs to me. Knowing what hollow legs they have the sulks are sure to stop by lunchtime. I don't think I will ever be able to turn them into proper ladies!!!!

Norah - you go girl and have a great day - you so deserve it x x x

June, Lindsay, Karen, Lynda, Pam, Tres, Alison, Steph , Barbara n Ben, Mrs B , Angela -
lol and gentle hugs from poochies

  151. Hi Sue,
You did make me smile this morning! No I don't have that corner as yet but it's on the list! I , like, Brenda will give the card a try with the Spanish corner and see if that works! Trouble is I really liked all the dies! Today's card is lovely - as you say the dies do all the work but you have to have the ideas in the first place! Thanks for dies + ideas = success!
Norah - hope you having the best day - you deserve it! Janet said "no running , jumping or skipping - good advice - no cartwheels either!! Sending hugs x
Gail pleased you back home safely. What a tough time you've had - eight weeks and counting. Sending love to you too.
In all the mayhem of the last few days if I've missed any Annniversaries or Birthdays. sorry!
Love to all, friends on the blog!
Have a great day - all the ladies going to meet Sue! Love to Sue and Julia too!

  162. Such a pretty card - and my favourite colours too. Would like the Austrians but can't have everything so will try something similar with the lovely French ones when they arrive. My Itty Bitty Classic Bows had arrived from Icon yesterday, so last nightI couldn't go to bed without trying them out. Oh my word, they make such exquisite little bows! The detail! I examined them again in daylight this morning and tried to imagine how long it would have taken to do by hand - getting the embossed lines and all the tiny pricking perfect !!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sue, I'm so thrilled to bits with these dies(in case you hadn't guessed!) Sue xx
